Starting in mid-September, Dr. Sarah Johnen will join the team at Pohlmann & Company as a partner. She is moving to Pohlmann & Company’s Frankfurt office from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where she most recently served as counsel in the White Collar Defense and Investigations practice.
For many years, Dr. Johnen has advised executive boards and supervisory boards of German and international companies on internal investigations as well as on complex issues of director and officer liability, corporate governance, and compliance. Her clients span numerous industries—including the automotive, logistics, and entertainment sectors. Among her most notable cases are internal investigations as well as the review and enforcement of director liability and indemnification claims for the supervisory boards of Continental AG and ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE. She also holds a master’s degree in medical law.
After passing her first state examination at the Higher Regional Court of Hamm, earning an LL.M. from the University of Düsseldorf, and passing her second state examination, Dr. Johnen earned her doctorate at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg. She is listed by WirtschaftsWoche as a “Highly Recommended Lawyer” in the field of compliance law, and The Legal 500 Germany describes her as a key contact for corporate governance issues.
